Bioinformatics, data analysis, mining and interpretation of high throughput genomics and proteomics data

Researcher in

Research Project Area:

Bioinformatics, data analysis, mining and interpretation of high throughput genomics and proteomics data

• Using genomic and proteomics data in clinical diagnostics of cancer, stem cells and identification of key disease markers for their treatment and prevention.

• Data Reliability and Experimental Design. Statistical design and analysis, quantitative microarray analysis, quality control and optimization, algorithms, methods for gene expression and data analysis and integration with proteomics data.

• Data Normalization and Statistical Evaluation. Inferential, non-parametric statistics, universal calibration standard, application of normalization methods and experimental validation, application of bistatistical and bioinformatics methods to gene and protein expression analysis and standards for microarray data representation and annotation.

• Data Standardization, implementing standardize annotation of data and validating evaluation of microarray results in course of bioinformatics studies.

• Analysis and interpretation of gene and protein expression data, from hybridised based methods e.g. micro-, and macro arrays or RT-PCR, sequence based methods such as EST or SAGE.

• Understanding mechanisms of transcriptional regulation and deciphering corresponding gene networks by combining gene expression studies with regulatory sequence analysis of the human genome draft sequence.

• System biology combinatorial approach to understanding various biological phenomena (disease, development etc.) by combining information from gene and protein profiling Studies with SNPs/regulatory sequence data, clinical information, biological pathway knowledge etc.
