STARs Teacher programme
REMEDI has welcomed 7 secondary school teachers into their laboratories over the past three summers.
The STARs (Secondary Teacher Assistant Researcher) initiative of Science Foundation Ireland gives secondary teachers the opportunity to conduct research with an SFI funded research team.
In 2008, Dr. Thomas Ritter hosted a STARs placement - John O'Loughlin - from St. Jarlath's College, Tuam, Co. Galway, for 8 weeks during the summer. John's project title is below:
"Ex vivo generation of regulatory T cells for their use to prevent allogeneic graft rejection"
