GRO - Galway Region Outreach
Galway Region Outreach (GRO) is a partnership encompassing Applied Optics Group, Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI), Environmental Change Institute (ECI), Regenerative Medicince Institute (REMEDI) and the NCBES.
GRO is committed to working with primary and secondary schools in the Galway Region to:
- Stimulate interest in science through the delivery of interactive projects and lectures in schools
- Engage young people in discussions of the many complex issues raised by developments in biomedical research
- Build links between students, teachers and third level researchers
- Highlight the cutting edge research ongoing at NUI Galway and encourage students to consider careers in science and engineering
We welcome secondary school groups interested in science to tour the laboratories and have limited places for transition year work experience in our laboratories.
